    Read academic and content-area texts fluently, handling technical vocabulary and complex structures.

    Objective: Students will read academic texts from science, social studies, and math fluently, handling technical vocabulary and domain-specific structures.

    Extended Text Stamina

    Maintain fluency across extended texts without degradation of rate, accuracy, or prosody.

    Objective: Students will maintain fluency for 5+ minutes of continuous reading without significant degradation of rate, accuracy, or prosody.

    Oral Presentation Fluency

    Read aloud for an audience with appropriate volume, pacing, and engagement techniques.

    Objective: Students will read aloud for an audience, using appropriate volume, pacing, eye contact, and engagement techniques.

    Poetry and Dramatic Reading

    Read poetry with sophisticated attention to meter, rhythm, and emotional expression; perform dramatic scenes.

    Objective: Students will read poetry with attention to meter and rhythm, and perform dramatic scenes with character differentiation and emotional expression.

    Silent Reading Fluency

    Develop efficient silent reading with speed, comprehension, and internal prosody.

    Objective: Students will read silently with improved speed while maintaining comprehension, demonstrating internal prosody through comprehension checks.

    Purposeful Reading Rates

    Match reading rate to purpose: skimming, scanning, close reading, and recreational reading.

    Objective: Students will demonstrate appropriate reading rates for different purposes: skimming for overview, scanning for specific information, close reading for analysis, and recreational reading for enjoyment.

    Advanced Fluency Integration

    Integrate all FL-5 skills and prepare for the checkpoint assessment.

    Objective: Students will demonstrate integrated advanced fluency including prosodic reading, academic text fluency, extended stamina, presentation skills, poetry/drama, silent reading, and purposeful rates.
