Learn spelling rules for adding suffixes: doubling consonants and dropping silent e.

Use syllabication and morphology strategies to decode longer words with multiple syllables.

Learn to use morphology (word parts) to determine word meaning, connecting decoding skills to vocabulary and comprehension.

Review and Application
Consolidate all PH-6 morphology skills through complex word analysis, mixed practice, and connected text reading.
Objective: Students will decode complex words using morphological analysis, apply spelling rules, derive word meaning from parts, identify and self-correct errors, and read connected text with multisyllabic vocabulary fluently.45 minutes
